Saturday, June 30

It took a while Saturday morning after the awful storms came through the night before (power was out everywhere, gas stations were down, looking at damage to our neighborhoods), BUT we finally made it to Shepherdstown for their Street Fest! It was so darn hot, it was good that we didn't get out there until the evening. After a nice dinner, we hit the street to listen to the last of the bands. Holden of course had a great time, dancing with Aunt Sarah and making friends with any kid she could find.

Friday, June 29

Morgantown has a fun little playground called the Waterfront Web right outside our hotel. It was the perfect place for Holden to run around and explore Friday morning. Even though she stayed up til MIDNIGHT the night before at the pageant, she was wide awake at 7am... 

Uncle Dave plays the drums in the pageants house band and during the shows all Holden could talk about was Uncle Dave playing drums. She wanted so badly to be on stage with him playing, she was finally allowed up on stage after the final show on Friday night. She got to play a little bit before they started making more announcements on stage and she had to stop. And yes... she is wearing fairy wings, Gigi won a silent auction basket full of tutus, fairy wings, tiaras and wands!

Holden and I took a mini-vacation to West Virginia for the Miss WV pageant, Kiersten's 21st birthday, and Shepherdstown's StreetFest.

Holden has recently gotten into the Disney Princess's... one hour with the 4 year old neighbor was all it took! Her current favorite is Tangled, or just Rapunzel to her. She spent the first half of our 6+ hour trip to Morgantown watching it over and over.

And then put herself to sleep by blocking out the world :)

Should have known she'd scam the birthday girl's cake for her own...

Powers Play Date

My friend Rachel and her kids came back to Charlotte for a visit this week, so Holden and I played hookie from work/school to play with them for the day. After a fun morning at the Lazy 5 Ranch feeding the animals, we cooled off at their Aunt Kay's pool. All it took was for Holden to hang around the big kids to finally let go of me and 'swim' on her own with the floaties!

Fun Times

Holden and I have had a lot of alone time lately and have done all kinds of fun things. Flipping on couches... wagon rides to the pool... dressing up like each other... I'm really looking forward to having some vacation time with our families to spread Holden's love around :)

As much as I like having a central place for Holden's pictures and videos, I don't get my pictures uploaded as often as I'd like. For those of you with smart phones, you can follow me on Instagram (@fep516), I've been putting pictures up there much faster since I can do it directly from my phone rather than download on to the computer and then upload onto this site. I'll still post pictures and videos here, it'll just be weekly or bi-weekly instead of every day so.
