Missing Drew

Drew had to go to LA for work, which is why we went to WV. It was pretty hard on all of us to be apart for so long (11 days!), but I tried to help by sending pictures of Holden along the way. These are two of my faves, two very different emotions here :-)

Snow Bunny

Charlotte got about 2 inches of snow in late January, which is a huge deal around here! We decided to make the most of Holden's first snow and bundle her up in the awesome outfit Rachel gave us for a photo op.

Little did we know that 2 weeks later while Holden and I were in WV we would become part of a real blizzard! We ended up getting almost 3 feet of snow, with wind drifting the snow another foot or two higher. It ended up being a great week to visit though, there was no school or work for my family to bother with so we all got to spend time together inside!

America's Next Top Model

My friend Lori recommended her friend, Joel, to take some newborn pictures of Holden. He's with Vision Photos and did an incredible job. He came to the house one Saturday morning, Holden was 2 weeks old, and spent about an hour with us. She was such a natural!

Meeting the Family

My family came to visit immediately to meet our newest addition. My mom, sister, and youngest brother were actually already with us awaiting Holden's arrival. My mom, who is now 'Gigi', stayed with us that first week home, which was a huge help and I hated seeing her leave. Sarah came back with Bonn a few weeks later for a long weekend so Bonn could meet his new niece.

Drew's mom came to stay with us the second week were home. I can't imagine not having that kind of support to come home to!

The Day I Was Born

So I'm little late starting this blog for our family and friends to follow, so the first few posts will be catching up to the present.

Holden Elizabeth Heist was born Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 4:21am. She was 6lb, 14oz and 19.5" long. After a not-so-pleasant pregnancy, the labor and delivery was definitely welcome - especially after the epidural!

Fun Fact: Holden was born on a National Palindrome Day - 01.02.2010 is the same forwards as backwards!
